“About 80% of the waking time that’s spent in a hotel room is spent in the bathroom,” says Ariane Steinbeck, principal designer for hotel and resort specialist firm Gettys, who completed a reconfiguration of the Hilton Hartford in early 2005.

 

For the presidential suite bathroom, Steinbeck and colleagues had a small footprint to work with. They chose this custom-made curved vanity, which creates the illusion of more space, to complement a Kohler chromatherapy tub with adjustable color lights, soothing bubbles and a splash basin ($9,028 and up).
